There are many employers who have filed intentionally or unintentionally workers as independent contractors. California being a very worker's friendly state has closed the loophole that would leave the practice open to happening. Employers who are going to be using contract workers on a regular basis should make sure they know the laws and criteria that would apply. Workers should also know the criteria to make sure they aren't getting exploited.
